About this program
Chargy connects an eligible home charging station to its network software, collects the resulting charging data, and generates credits under Canada's Clean Fuel Regulations. It shares part of that value with participating EV owners as a monthly per-kWh reward. The program is offered in British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Québec, Newfoundland and Labrador and Prince Edward Island.
Eligibility
A charging station installed in British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Québec, Newfoundland and Labrador or Prince Edward Island, connected to Chargy's network software over OCPP, with charging energy usage of at least 100 kWh per month. The station has to stay connected to the internet and to Chargy's software, which is how Chargy monitors the energy consumption it uses for credit reporting. Chargy states there are no upfront or recurring costs, that participation can be cancelled at any time, and that there is no long-term contract or cancellation penalty. Disconnecting the station from Chargy's network ends the payments, because Chargy can no longer generate credit revenue from its charging data.
Hardware & vehicle requirements
A charging station that connects to Chargy's network software over OCPP. Participants can use an eligible station they already own, or buy one from Chargy's shop. Chargy lists the Wallbox Pulsar Plus, Autel MaxiCharger Home, Elmec EV Duty, Grizzl-E Smart, Lite On and Joint Tech as eligible, and says other OCPP stations may qualify. Supporting OCPP is not sufficient on its own; Chargy asks to be contacted to confirm any model that is not on its list. Chargy lists the Tesla Wall Connector, Tesla Mobile Connector, ChargePoint Home Flex and FLO Home as not eligible, because it says they are locked to the manufacturer's own software and cannot connect to third-party software over OCPP.
Reward structure details
The ongoing rate is 10¢/kWh, paid monthly. Chargy advertises a limited-time offer of an extra 5¢/kWh for the first six months (15¢/kWh combined), which it states expires September 30, 2026. At least 100 kWh of charging energy per month is required to be paid. Chargy states that in a month below that threshold there is no payment at all, because the minimum covers its monthly operating costs. Payments are sent by e-transfer, or deposited directly to a bank account by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). Three further promotions are advertised alongside the rate. A $250 cash bonus is paid after 12 months in the program when a Wallbox charger was bought from Chargy at MSRP and annual energy usage is at least 1,200 kWh, with a limit of one charging station per physical address. The bonus applies only to eligible Wallbox chargers bought from Chargy, not to the other stations Chargy sells and not to a charger you already own; the program page advertises the offer as valid while supplies last. A referral pays $25 to the referring member and $25 to the referred member after three months of active participation, with the referred member consuming at least 100 kWh in each of those three months. And $50 off installation is offered through Chargy's contractor network.
