ChargeClub tracks Canada's emerging market for residential EV home-charging reward programs. This index analyzes program availability, advertised reward rates, hardware requirements, payout methods and other characteristics across the Canadian market.

Advertised reward rates
Reward rates are not directly comparable in every case. Some programs use tiers, provincial rates, hardware requirements or other eligibility conditions. This analysis therefore separates lower and upper advertised ongoing rates where appropriate.

1 residential program does not publish an ongoing per-kWh reward that can be quantified and is excluded from the rate statistics. One program publishes its reward in points. It is converted here at the conversion rate the provider itself publishes.
Can drivers use a charger they already own?
Some programs enroll a compatible charger a driver already owns. Others run only on hardware the provider supplies, requires or sells. A few offer both routes.

Refundable equipment deposits
A refundable deposit is not a purchase. The provider ships hardware, holds a deposit and returns it when the program's conditions are met. Programs that offer several enrollment routes are counted here when at least one of those routes uses a deposit.

How rewards are paid
Most programs pay money, by direct deposit, Interac e-Transfer or cheque. A smaller number pay in gift cards. Some providers have not published a payment method.

These examples simply multiply annual home-charging energy by the median advertised ongoing reward rate in the dataset. Actual earnings depend on program eligibility, province, charging hardware, rate tiers, participation requirements and other program terms.

Documented reward-rate changes in 2026
These are permanent changes to an ongoing per-kWh reward rate that ChargeClub can verify from the provider's published terms or from its own dated records. Referral bonuses, seasonal promotions and prize draws are not rate changes and are not listed.

No permanent decrease to an ongoing reward rate was identified in the period ChargeClub has tracked.
Methodology
ChargeClub analyzed the residential EV home-charging reward programs in its Canadian program directory as of September 20, 2026. Commercial-only programs were excluded.
Program availability is based on the eligibility information maintained in ChargeClub's program dataset. A program is counted for a province or territory only where ChargeClub identifies that jurisdiction as eligible.
Reward-rate statistics include only programs for which an ongoing per-kWh reward can be reasonably quantified. One-time signup bonuses, referral incentives, contests and draws are excluded from the ongoing reward rate unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Where a program publishes tiers or a range of ongoing rates, ChargeClub records lower and upper advertised rates separately. Rates are not weighted by provider enrollment, population, charging volume or market share.
Hardware, deposit, payout and reward-type statistics are based on the program terms tracked by ChargeClub. Programs with multiple enrollment paths may appear in more than one applicable category.
Program terms can change. Consumers should always verify current eligibility, rates and conditions with the provider before enrolling.
