About this program
DashSharing provides a Standard or Ultra Level 2 home charger under licence against a refundable deposit rather than as a purchase. The deposit is refunded once the charger has delivered 1,500 kWh, and earning begins from that milestone at a flat 11¢/kWh, the same rate for both models. A participant who reaches 1,500 kWh and then leaves the program can keep the charger by paying a $50 buyout fee; before that milestone the charger must be returned.
Eligibility
Canadian residents at least 18 years of age who will install and operate the charger in Canada; all charging must occur in Canada. DashSharing also requires a site authorization completed by the property owner. The program is for private, personal use: the charger is for charging your own EV, not for commercial or public use. The charger must stay continuously connected to Wi-Fi. After a connectivity loss it allows no more than five further sessions before disabling, and sessions whose data isn't transmitted are never credited. DashSharing monitors charging activity and may end your participation if energy transfer over a reasonable period is not enough to show active use. No monthly fees are charged at present, though DashSharing reserves the right to introduce them on 30 days' notice.
Hardware & vehicle requirements
DashSharing provides a Standard (40A, 50A breaker) or Ultra (48A, 60A breaker) Level 2 charger under licence against a refundable deposit of $450 or $599, plus a $30 shipping fee. Title stays with DashSharing rather than transferring to you. DashSharing advertises promo code CD100 for $100 off the deposit. A single household may receive complimentary charging equipment for up to three chargers. Active members in good standing get lifetime warranty coverage and technical support for the charger. If participation ends before the charger has delivered 1,500 kWh, it must be returned in good condition within 14 days. After 1,500 kWh a participant who leaves can instead keep the charger permanently by paying a non-refundable $50 buyout fee plus applicable taxes, which transfers ownership. Both come with an 18-foot cable and a choice of J1772 or NACS connector; the Standard can be hardwired or fitted with a NEMA 14-50 plug. Professional installation by a licensed electrician is required and is arranged and paid for by the participant.
Reward structure details
Earning begins once the refundable deposit has been returned, which happens after the charger has delivered 1,500 kWh. The rate is a flat 11¢/kWh rather than tiered, and is the same for the Standard and the Ultra. Minimum withdrawal is $100, paid by bank transfer with direct deposit enrolment required, and DashSharing's FAQ says payments are processed on the first of each month.
