About this program
EcoCharge Energy Network provides eligible customers across all ten Canadian provinces with a connected Level 2 charger against a $199 refundable deposit. Participants earn 10¢/kWh from day 1, and the deposit is refunded after the charger records 1,500 kWh. EcoCharge retains ownership of the charger and funds the arrangement by collecting the Clean Fuel Regulations credits the charging generates. There are no monthly program fees, and electrical installation is not included.
Eligibility
Available to residential and commercial customers across all ten Canadian provinces under the same program. On the residential side, EcoCharge looks for owners of single-family homes with a private garage, carport or driveway. EcoCharge states most homes with a 100-amp or larger main panel can support the charger, while a 60-amp panel may need an upgrade at the owner's expense. Participants must use the charger EcoCharge supplies.
Hardware & vehicle requirements
EcoCharge supplies a connected Level 2 charger with a J1772 connector against a $199 refundable deposit, and does not publish its make or model. A NACS adapter can be provided on request when a J1772 charger is supplied. EcoCharge retains ownership of the charger. Electrical installation is not included: the customer arranges the 240V connection with a licensed electrician at their own cost. EcoCharge provides white-glove delivery in British Columbia and free shipping in other provinces.
Reward structure details
Participants earn 10¢/kWh from day 1. The $199 deposit is refunded after 1,500 kWh of charging. EcoCharge describes the 10¢/kWh reward as having no cap and no expiry. Earnings are tracked in the app and paid once the balance reaches $100. EcoCharge confirmed that rewards are paid quarterly via digital gift cards.
