About this program
Hypercharge Home Club is a residential rewards program for EV drivers in Canada. Members join with a refundable deposit, receive a Hypercharge Home Level 2 charger, and earn a per-kWh reward on eligible home charging recorded by that charger. The program is supported by value generated from eligible residential charging under Canada's Clean Fuel Regulations. Members assign the associated program credits to Hypercharge, which uses that value to help fund the program and customer rewards.
Eligibility
Canadian homeowners, and renters or other residents who have the legal right or required permission to install the enrolled charger at a valid residential address in Canada. The charger must stay connected to Wi-Fi so eligible charging is recorded; sessions the charger does not record are not counted. The refundable-deposit offer is limited to one charger per residential address.
Hardware & vehicle requirements
Members receive a Hypercharge Home Level 2 charger, available with a J1772 or NACS connector and in a plug-in (NEMA 14-50) or hardwired configuration. Hardwired installation requires a licensed electrician. Wi-Fi is required for charging to be recorded. The $299 deposit is refunded in full once the charger records 1,500 kWh of eligible charging, provided that happens within two years of the later of the date the deposit is paid and the date the charger is delivered; past that point Hypercharge may keep the deposit. Shipping is a flat $30 and installation is not included, though an installation option can be added at checkout. The charger carries a two-year warranty. A charger can be returned within 30 days if it is unused and in its original packaging and condition, with a $75 restocking fee and return shipping paid by the customer.
Reward structure details
3¢/kWh from the first eligible home charge. Once the charger records 1,500 kWh of eligible charging, the rate rises to 11¢/kWh; the higher rate is not retroactive and does not apply to the first 1,500 kWh. There is no monthly or annual reward cap at launch. Rewards are paid by Interac e-Transfer once the balance reaches $100. Eligible payouts are processed on the last Friday of each month, or the preceding business day if that Friday is a holiday, with a cut-off of 11:59 p.m. Pacific on the Sunday before. If the 1,500 kWh threshold is not reached within two years, Home Club enrolment ends and no further rewards accrue. Hypercharge will still pay any verified unpaid reward balance, even if it is below the usual $100 payout threshold.
