About this program
GreenMiles is Pion Power's rewards program for owners of eligible Pion Power chargers. The app records qualifying charging activity for Canada's Clean Fuel Regulations program, and participants receive points worth 10¢ per kWh. Earning is tracked on a calendar-year basis from January 1 to December 31. Participants with at least 1,000 points can redeem their rewards during the annual redemption period, with payment issued by cheque around the following March. Balances below the 1,000-point threshold carry forward to the next year.
Eligibility
Owners of a qualifying Pion Power Flex-AC or Flex-AC Elite charger located anywhere in Canada. Both existing and new owners can participate. The charger must be registered in the Pion Power app and connected through Wi-Fi. There is no GreenMiles membership fee or deposit.
Hardware & vehicle requirements
A Wi-Fi-enabled Pion Power Flex-AC or Flex-AC Elite charger is required. Pion Power lists the Flex-AC LE, which reaches the app over a hotspot rather than Wi-Fi, as not eligible for GreenMiles, and chargers from other manufacturers are not eligible either.
Reward structure details
Earn 10¢ per qualifying kWh charged. Every 1,000 points, representing 1,000 kWh, qualifies for a $100 cash reward. Points are tracked by calendar year, and participants redeem eligible rewards during the annual redemption period. Payment is made by cheque around March of the following year. Balances below 1,000 points carry forward. Pion currently advertises a reward value equivalent to 10¢/kWh, but states that displayed reward values are estimates and may vary depending on regulatory approval, carbon-credit market conditions and program administration. Its terms also state that the $100/MWh reward value is subject to annual review and may increase or decrease, and that rewards are credited only after the related credits are verified and approved. New members receive a 20-point welcome bonus, and successful referrals provide both participants with 200 points. Additional Top-Up rewards and bonus opportunities may also be offered.
