About this program
RoadToEV is an approved charging network operator: it collects home charging data from internet-connected Tesla Wall Connectors and reports the eligible sessions under Canada's Clean Fuel Regulations, then credits members from the proceeds once a year.
Eligibility
Homeowners across Canada; only Tesla Wall Connectors are supported. RoadToEV can credit eligible charging back to April 1, 2026 for new and existing users, provided the historical charging data is available.
Hardware & vehicle requirements
A Tesla Wall Connector is the only supported charger. It must be connected to Wi-Fi, registered to your Tesla account, and linked through the RoadToEV app for sessions to count.
Reward structure details
5¢/kWh for sessions from April 1 to June 30, 2026, and a base rate of 10¢/kWh from July 1, 2026 onward. Effective August 15, 2026, the rate can increase by 1¢/kWh for every 5 eligible referrals, up to 15¢/kWh with 25 or more referrals. The same base rate applies in every province. RoadToEV puts a typical year at about $800 for 8,000 kWh of charging, as guidance only; actual totals depend on how much you charge. Estimated rewards normally appear within 24 hours of a completed session. Final rewards for a calendar year are expected to be paid in Q2 of the following year, by approximately July 1. Eligible carbon credits can be withdrawn once per calendar year by Interac e-Transfer, provided the wallet contains at least $20. Referrals also pay $20 in carbon credits to both people, separately from the rate bonus above, once the referred participant connects a Tesla Wall Connector.
